Toy cars: a stimulating tool for studying the movement

It is often difficult to find simple and inexpensive material with which to train kinematics of the first cycle of secondary education. This article describes the experience with students in 2nd ESO to study the rectilinear movement and using a uniform resource is available as a toy pram. Thus the collection of data needed to calculate the speed and build the corresponding graphs are in a very exciting for students.

Looking for appropriate materials noise insulating for a local to do music

We present a research project in which we studied various building materials to analyze what is the best that attenuates the sound. The experimental work was based on the construction of a set of boxes, lined with various materials that reproduce on a local s'assaja with a musical instrument, and as far as intensity level of sound emitted by a sound source so inside or outside of the boxes.

The use of scientific texts in teaching physics and chemistry

The purpose of this paper is to describe the work carried out during a leave of studies that emerged from the conviction that the scientific understanding of reading is a skill required for a person with a basic education and not works in the classroom or not they spent enough time. We selected 152 scientific texts classified by subject, type and level. Has been studied extensively the theory of argumentation Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca, Ogborn model, the types of texts, textual structures as Van Dijk, maps logical Thagard and the relationship between text and illustrations, to design a theoretical framework for analysis of scientific texts that provide criteria to select readings that are proposed within the areas of Physics and Chemistry al'ESO and Bachillerato.

The texts of science have ideology

This article raises the importance of creating a citizenry able to read texts critically scientific content and the need to develop from a science class, activities to promote this competition. Suggested reading press reports, divulgative texts and advertisings from the perspective of critical reading allow students to recognize the ideology of these documents and develop the mechanisms to interpret it.

The last Nobel Prize for physics was awarded to M. Kobayashi and T. Maskawa and Y. Nambu for his contributions to the understanding of the smallest components of matter, the "bricks" from which built everything on the universe. Mathematics and symmetries have played a key role.
